Mljet - is an island situated on the southern part of Croatia, west from the most famous Croatian summer resort Dubrovnik. The national park “Mljet” is placed on the west side on one of the most beautiful islands on adria. Two deep bays should be mentioned. They are called lakes because of their tight connections to the open sea and its diverse and rich Mediterranean vegetation. Mljet stands out with its rich culture inheriting and in its frame the most interesting example is the complex of the Benedictine monastery from the 12th century on a small island in the middle of the lake-bay.
